Job Description: Secretary

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Volunteer Secretary to support our non-profit organization. This position is commission-based and is crucial in fostering communication and coordination among our volunteers and members. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a passion for community service, and a commitment to our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize Volunteer Activities: Coordinate and schedule volunteer events and meetings, ensuring all logistics are in place.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers and members, facilitating effective communication through emails, phone calls, and meetings.
  • Onboarding Support: Assist in the onboarding process for new volunteers, providing necessary training materials and information about the organization.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform general secretarial duties, including maintaining records, managing schedules, and filing documents.
  • Meeting Coordination: Prepare agendas, take meeting minutes, and follow up on action items to ensure progress.
  • Outreach and Engagement: Help promote volunteer opportunities and engage members through newsletters, social media, and other communication channels.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in using office software and communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.).
  • Previous experience in a secretarial or administrative role is a plus.
  • Passion for non-profit work and community engagement.
